"Everyone feels like Family"

Wine Maker, Husband,  Father, Naturalist, Terroir-ist, Club Hombre Founder

James is a passionate man, who is very clear why he has chosen to produce only Tempranillo wine. He is in search of perfection, not mass production. He firmly believes that, to make a good wine, we must start with high quality fruit, that is why vineyard floor management is of the utmost importance. He has refined the soil of his vineyard by introducing vermicomposting and following rigorous natural, microbial, organic and sustainable practices.

"I'm not here just to make money, I'm here to personally perfect the art of winemaking," says James, who is an alumnus of La Escuelita de Vino in El Porvenir, where he learned the basics of winemaking. One of his passions is to impart his knowledge about vineyard management and wine production during the vertical tastings offered at Trevista and to turn his 'students' into lovers of red wine, especially TEMPRANILLO wine.

Chef, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Corazon De Vida Founder

Hilda’s family is from Ensenada and Valle de Guadalupe. Hilda was born in Ensenada, but spent most of her adult life in California where she founded Corazon de Vida, an organization that supports orphanages in Tijuana and Ensenada. Hilda is happy to have returned to Valle de Guadalupe, the town that her grandparents migrated to in the 50’s, from their native state of Jalisco.

Hilda is a nurturer, she loves to cook and bringing people together though food which makes for a perfect match for wines!  Hilda loves creating dishes and in particular “small-bite” dishes.  Tastings at Trevista are paired up with tapas-style appetizers that Hilda creates.
